Written for Carpe Diem Haiku Kai where we are focusing on the Romani people – as April 8th is International Romani Day.  I wrote about the Romani people not too long ago [Opre Roma].

  1. And they are thunderous rapids at times…a wonderful post and haiku. I know that song.I met Kalyi Jag a few times when I lived in Hungary early 1990s. Really perhaps the best gypsy band. Kalyi Jag means Black Fire, and they are great to watch, even with only 3 of them. I tried to invite them to a folk music festival once in GB, must try again. Thanks so much Jen, your words kept me going through winter! Time for me to come alive.
    I see there is a group called Haibun Hut on facebook, but I feel the quality is not quite there often. Now I will get the anthology out. Everything is getting into place, just need more haibun from you!
