Oh very gallant! Is that how the birds over yonder address one another? Mighty refined and mighty purty 🙂
(I imagine that in Peeay they don’t actually say ‘purty’ but I only have a couple of US accents and the other is Noo Yoik, so… apologies!)
Well, “purty” happens in the south and the west … but I’ll let it slide 🙂
So youz speak Joisey? Getouddahere! LOL! 😉
Had forgotten I’d used this song — a favorite! Has different meaning these days … much different context. 🙂
Wonderful take on the cardinal theme. My husband is sitting in a pout as his beloved Cards first game is not available due to being on ESPN.
Oh dear!!! Poor man!
Thanks Janice 🙂
Gorgeous ode to the cardinal…in tanka form, I love it. 🙂

CARDINAL — or as they call them here, RED BIRD !!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Oh dear – don’t let Carrie Cardinal hear you calk her ‘red bird’ – she’s a feisty little thing! 😉
Really – she can hold her own against even the grackles and blue jays. Feisty!!!
But pretty 🙂
Well, I wouldn’t offend a bird like Carrie Cardinal for anything in the world– it’s my favorite birdie of all.
Have you seen Elmer and Elaine lately? Here, it is Carrie and Cassius and Carlos and Chester and…
No, but I had a hawk ride along with me a couple weeks back.
This brought a smile 🙂
He paced me on my left side for about 100 yards, then zoomed off in front of me when I slowed down for him.
That’s neat — !
When I was going to college in Lancaster (Millersville, actually) there used to be so many hawks along Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) — not so many lately. Used to love seeing them. Never had an opportunity to ride with a hawk though!!! 🙂
It was an interesting moment — fun, and inspirational !!!!
No doubt! I’m envious too!
Mehhh! We don’t get Cardinals here. Made that all the more special.
They *are* stunning — males and females both.
But — you have beautiful finches there, evidently. One of your fellow countrymen has been telling me all about them. 🙂
Yes, the Atticus Finch is a noble bird.
Go to sleep!!!!! LOL
But … but … but …
there are poems to write! 😉
They can wait
Till tomorrow then 😉
It is tomorrow😁
Pour me another cuppa coffee, then — the muses are anxious! 😉
Gratefully accepted, as I weave a tale about spiders 🙂
Is it a story in eight parts? LOL
Don’t answer that. I’ll see you when you wake, or sleep, or something 😁😳
Eight parts…. Oy….!!!!
Almost hear her blush and say” Why that’s mighty kind of you Sire” 🙂
😀 They’re made for each other! 😀
